Earth laughs in flowers... Ralph Waldo Emerson

A man can no more diminish God's glory by refusing to worship Him than a lunatic can put out the sun by scribbling the word, 'darkness' on the walls of his cell.

A Couple of New Goodies!!!

I found the antique book at one of my favorite stores in McKinney, Texas called SMITTEN! I have talked about it before…it is a wonderful spot filled with even more wonderful goodies!  The paperweight on top is John Derian. It was a gift from my daughter and I ADORE it! The little flowers are so pretty and the perfect color for my family room…I love that she knows me so well;)!

It is sooooo cold here in Texas…we have been snowed in for 2 days and it is not looking any better for tomorrow! I am not complaining as I know so many of you are in much worse shape.  All of this cold has me dreaming of warmer spring days…maybe soon;)?

Stay safe and warm out there sweet friends!!!

Some new hearts for Valentines Day! LOVE!

Kristen

I had the wonderful opportunity the other night to meet and have dinner with my sweet friend Kristen…from Kristen’s Creations! She brought along her friend Sherry and we dined and talked for 4 hours! Can you believe it? We had the best time! I can’t believe I allowed myself to be photographed with this darling girl…who is not only beautiful but 13 years younger than me…UGH! Our birthdays are on the same day so it really is 13 WHOLE years;)! Of course this has nothing to do with the size of the photo;)…really…I can’t get it any larger without it looking grainy. Thanks for the amazing evening Kristen and Sherry…can’t wait to do it again!!!

I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend!

Lots of Love!!!

Sunday Blessings!!!

winter flowers

The life of the cross is a life of the cross of repentance. Most of those who inform us today that they “do not believe in sin” are really saying that they cannot believe in forgiveness. If we cannot accept God’s forgiveness as a continuing fact in the creation and in our own lives, then we must either live in a constant state of guilt, or deny our shortcomings and fall back on making excuses.

John McCandless

God bless you all!

Happy Sunday!!!

I have been wanting to incorporate the idea of a memory board in my house for awhile now. I have seen them everywhere and I WANTED ONE! I decided this tiny little hall that leads from my kitchen to the garage would be a great spot since it is too narrow for furniture or just about anything else. Instead of a board I decided to just paint the wall and go from there. I had a little help from my sweet girl…she painted the partial bible verse. John 16:33 is my all time favorite and of course the words she painted are the best part;)! I chose the green color to tie in with my sofa that is in the adjacent room and my project was on it’s way! I just started adding goodies to the wall and have several more things to add…I think this going to be a fun way of sharing some of the fun memories we are making around here!

Happy Monday everyone! I hope you all have a wonderful week!

I guess the title says it all! I can’t believe I am showing my pantry on my blog! It is my daughter’s fault! I was cleaning out the remaining Christmas goodies the other day and she asked me if I had shown ya’ll my little pantry makeover. I moved some things around and changed out the paper just before the holidays. Not a huge change just a little pick me up…I wanted it to be a little cuter;)! Sooooooo…here it is! I took the pics while it was nice and empty…so much easier to see the darling paper I used…I love it! I used a different pattern on every shelf…so whimsical. I would have loved to paint the whole thing another color…maybe some day…this was just supposed to be a little pick me up…remember?

I am off to the market!!! I need to get some food to put in there before my family starves to death;)!

Have a wonderful evening!

I hope everyone is staying warm out there! It is COLD here in Texas and we even saw quite a bit of snow at my house…BBBRRRRRRR!

I just wanted to share these cute little candy canes with you before I say goodbye to the last of the Christmas decor. I found these at Whole Foods this year and just had to have them! They are nutmeg flavored and seeing as my Christmas colors are brown, cream and apple green I knew these were coming home with me! I paired them with a dried orange and some greenery to make a fun little arrangement…love love love!

Happy Sunday everyone! Check back soon…I have a couple of  little projects to share;)!

I just had to share this with ya’ll! This is the work of my sweet friend Sonya! I have been blogging with Sonya since she started her GORGEOUS blog a few months ago! She does the most stunning work…I am in love with her brave use of color and mix of fabrics! I am always telling her I wish she had been around when we built our house to encourage me towards her level of courage. I love color but I tend towards playing it a little too safe! She sews…she paints and creates the most wonderful goodies…as you can tell from the pics! You simply MUST visit her site! BEYOND THE SCREEN DOOR!!! Even her blog name is darling! Stop by and say hello…you will be thrilled you did;)!

I hope you all are having a wonderful week!

Lots of Love!
